Matt Czuchry, known for his roles in Gilmore Girls, The Good Wife, and The Resident, is set to appear in the upcoming 12th season of the popular horror anthology series, American Horror Story. While there had been rumors about his casting for some time, it was only recently confirmed after photos surfaced of Czuchry filming scenes for the show. He will be playing the male lead opposite Emma Roberts, who was officially announced to be involved in the series two weeks ago, with the two playing the roles of husband and wife.
This season of American Horror Story is based on the novel Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine, which is set to be released in August. It's the first time that the show has been inspired by a novel, and it's being adapted and showrun by Halley Feiffer. The season is being billed as a feminist update of Rosemary’s Baby, and reportedly centers around a woman who becomes convinced that a malevolent force is trying to prevent her from becoming pregnant.
Recently, Czuchry and Roberts were spotted filming at a fertility clinic, which has led to speculation that their characters' storyline will involve surrogacy. The Season 12 cast of American Horror Story also features Annabelle Dexter-Jones, who has been seen on set, as well as Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Cara Delevingne, and Kim Kardashian.
Czuchry recently concluded a six-season run as the lead in Fox's medical drama series, The Resident. Prior to that, he starred alongside Julianna Margulies in CBS's legal drama, The Good Wife. He also reprised his role as Logan in Netflix's Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, a follow-up to the popular coming-of-age series. Czuchry is represented by Gersh and Thruline.
