Actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie was born on June 4, 1975, to actress Marcheline Bertrand and actor Jon Voight. After getting her start in film alongside her father in Lookin’ to Get Out in 1982, Angelina Jolie went on to win an Academy Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and three Golden Globes Awards for her roles in 1997’s George Wallace, 1998’s Gia and 1999’s Girl, Interrupted. Angelina Jolie recently starred as the title character in 2014 film Maleficent. Angelina Jolie is noted for her humanitarian efforts, advocating for refugees, women’s rights, education and conservation, among other issues.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have not reconciled. Even if it’s been five years since the exes announced their divorce, the A-listers have not reached an agreement when it comes to their custody battle.
During their marriage, Angelina Jolie and Pitt invested in a vineyard, but the Maleficent star decided to sell her share in October. According to reports, Jolie sold her 50 percent stake at Chateau Miraval to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of the Stoli Group, according to Wine Spectator.
It's unclear how much Jolie sold her stakes for. But there are claims that her decision has started to bite her in the back.
Angelina Jolie Didn’t Think Brad Pitt’s Vineyard Could Rake In Millions
National Enquirer, in its Jan. 10 issue, claimed that Jolie didn’t expect that Pitt would still make a generous sum after she sold her stakes at Chateau Miraval. In fact, the Eternals actress is surprised because she allegedly heard that her ex-husband has been making millions.
“Brad has rebounded by expanding business at the property, which brings millions from the wines that carry his name and has more than doubled in value since he and Angie bought it for $60 million in 2012,” an unnamed source said.
Brad Pitt Expanding His Winery Business
Pitt has also been expanding his wine list. And he’s also, allegedly, building an on-site recording studio and renovating the area to make it look more beautiful for guests and partners.
So, when Jolie found out, the actress allegedly became enraged. She’s allegedly questioning her decision to walk away from Chateau Miraval because she didn't think it would be this profitable.
“Angelina fought tooth and nail to dump her share of Miraval but now she’s having second thoughts. She sold her share to pay all her divorce lawyers and living costs, so it really burns her that he’s got millions to sink into the palace. Angie’s convinced he’s doing it just to rub her nose in it,” the unnamed source said.
Shortly after Jolie sold her stakes, Pitt announced his partnership with other investors and said that they will be releasing a new wine called Champagne Fleur de Miraval ER2.
According to Food & Wine, this is the second edition of Pitt’s rose-focused winery take on champagne.
“I was impressed last year with the success of our first edition, Fleur de Miraval ER1. With ER2, we pushed the limits even further, we created new extremes for quality. Being the only Champagne house exclusively devoted to Rosé Champagne, each edition of Fleur de Miraval is a constant quest for beauty, a desire to create space for all possibilities,” Pitt said in a statement.
While it is true that Pitt’s wine business has been very lucrative, especially after Jolie sold her stakes, there’s no proof that the actress is bitter and wants her ex-husband’s business to fail.
Even though Jolie doesn’t directly benefit from what Pitt earns, the actor gives financial support to their children.
Angelina Jolie Wants Her Family To Move Forward
As of late, there’s also no update regarding Jolie and Pitt’s ongoing custody battle. But in October, Jolie’s attorney told Entertainment Tonight that her goal is for the entire family to move forward cooperatively.
“Ms. Jolie is focused on her family and pleased that her children's wellbeing will not be guided by unethical behavior. She welcomes the California Supreme Court's decision to refuse review of the unanimous Court of Appeal decision,” her lawyer said.

Brad Pitt's Chateau Miraval
Nestled inside of Brad Pitt’s 900-acre winemaking estate Château Miraval, is the very studio where Pink Floyd’s 1979 album, The Wall was partly recorded. Miraval has also seen The Cure, AC/DC, Sade, Sting, Elton John, and others pass through its storied doors. However, twenty years of settlement and decay is all that stands today. But, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Mr. Brad Pitt has plans to make it what it once was – but even better.
French composer, Jacques Loussier built the recording studio back in the late 70’s when he owned Chateau Miraval. Studio Miraval consists of three homes, a 3,400 square foot studio, (complete with one of the first SSL mixing consoles in France at the time) and a swimming pool. All set among the backdrop of the French Riviera. Brad Pitt and then-wife Angelina Jolie purchased the property (who has since sold her shares) in 2011. Pitt has now teamed up with French producer Damien Quintard, and they are undertaking a complete redesign of the studio property. Of which will feature state of the art technology and will be ideal for producing anything from pop and rock to hip-hop and classical records.
Marc Perrin, winemaker, and partner at Château Miraval stated to WineSpectator.com, “I am really enthusiastic about exploring the connections between music and wine, art and agriculture, and look forward to working with Damien Quintard and his team.” The official website of Miraval says, “With its legendary recording studio, Miraval offers an artistic atmosphere like no other. The clear piano notes once played by the legendary French jazzman, Jacques Loussier still resonate on this extraordinary land, devoted to the never-to-be-forgotten.
Quintard and Pitt spent hours discussing music and the studio’s potential, as reported by WineSpectator.com. Quintard tells them, “When we met in Paris, we immediately clicked. I was amazed at how sensitive and precise he was in his analysis of music.” But, honestly, is that really a surprise – it IS Brad Pitt. Studio Miraval is scheduled to open in the summer of 2022.
