R&B/pop singer Rihanna was born in Saint Michael, Barbados, on February 20, 1988. Rihanna got her big break in 2003 when she was introduced to record producer Evan Rogers. At the time, Rihanna was part of a musical trio, but Rogers was only interested in Rihanna talents as a solo artist.
Rihanna, 33, and ASAP Rocky, 33, rang in the New Year together at home in Barbados and, according to sources, 2022 may be the year that they say, “I do!” In January 2020, Rihanna and Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, took their romance public when they were spotted packing on PDA during their first holiday trip to Barbados, where they both have family. And they’ve fallen more and more in love with each other since. In fact, a source close to Rihanna told EXCLUSIVELY that “it’s only a matter of time before [ASAP Rocky] proposes!”
“Rocky absolutely feels that Rihanna is the perfect person for him, and he can’t imagine his life without her. They have discussed marriage and kids. They know it’s something they both want,” our source revealed. “Despite their romance heating up as quickly as it has, they’ve had time to lay the foundation for a great relationship since they were friends for so long before they hooked up.” As fans know, Rocky’s late father is from Barbados, and he still has a bunch of relatives who live on the island.
According to the source, their families approve of their relationship! “Rocky has a great relationship with Rihanna’s family and it’s only a matter of time before he proposes. Rihanna realizes her clock is ticking and as much as she wants kids, she has a very full plate with all her businesses,” the insider said. Does this mean that Rocky and Rihanna are going to have some beautiful kids too? Signs likely point to yes!
In a May 2020 interview with Vogue, the “Stay” singer said that she is open to having children “when the time is right.” The source continued, “Rihanna isn’t stressing about it though and, if it’s meant to happen, it will happen. Either way she knows that Rocky would make an amazing father.” A second source agrees with those sentiments, telling us, ”Rocky loves Ri. That is obvious. His goals with Ri are to have a relationship that takes them to marriage, takes them to kids but wants to take them to a foundation first where they are in a great place to get there in the first place, and that is currently the case with them.”
Rihanna andher Boyfreind on New Year Eve
Rihanna put on a very leggy display on Friday as she and boyfriend ASAP Rocky left a New Year's Eve celebration party in her home country of Barbados.
The singer, 33, looked sensational in a sparkly black gown with a perilously high split as she made her way of out the venue with her casually-clad rapper beau, also 33.
The Diamonds hitmaker certainly turned heads as strutted her stiff in the flesh-flashing dress, which she teamed with towering black and gold heels.
Rihanna teamed her dress with a matching fluffy-trimmed shawl, which she draped over her arms.
The Bajan beauty added a silver chain to her look and styled her locks into chunky braids, while she highlighted her stunning features with light and dewy make-up.
Meanwhile, ASAP, real name Rakim Athelaston Mayers, kept things casual in a printed white hoodie and denim shorts.
He added a black bucket hat, red tinted shades and white socks and trainers to his relaxed look, in stark contrast to his glamorous girlfriend.
The couple kept their head down as they left amid a swarm of onlookers, with Rihanna walking just behind her man.
ASAP Rocky and Rihanna had been friends for nearly a decade before they began dating officially in 2020.
The Praise The Lord hitmaker admitted in an interview with Metro back in May that Rihanna was 'the one.'
'She amounts to probably, like, a million of the other ones’, he said, revealing that he is now ‘comfortable embracing monogamy’ thanks to his relationship with the pop star.
'I think when you know, you know. She’s the One.'
The musician has previously been linked to Iggy Azalea and Kendall Jenner, while Rihanna is said to have had ties with Leonardo DiCaprio and Drake.
Rihanna was recently awarded National Hero Award in Barbados, becoming the second woman in history to be given the honour.
Religious leader Sarah Ann Gill, who died in 1866, was the first woman to receive the award.
Rihanna - who was born on the St Michael parish of Barbados - found fame in 2005 after being spotted by a record producer and has since gone on to become one of the most successful female artists of all time with sales of over 250 million and recently reached billionaire status through her Fenty beauty brand.
