Miley Cyrus opened up about her much controversial divorce from Liam Hemsworth. The 27-year-old pop star admitted dealing with trauma and yet maintaining silence for a reason. The singer and songwriter had finalized her divorce from Liam Hemsworth in December 2019 and since then, she has been coping with the "trauma."
However, Miley Cyrus said that she believes in moving on and not to cry on the left-over pieces. During an interview with Skavlan, which is a Scandanavian talk show the Hannah Montana fame disclosed the secret behind moving on without any drama and how she handled her heartbreak.
Besides that, she also addressed her recent loss, such as Malibu's home burnt down in 2018 and coping with her grandmother's death with whom she was “super close.” However, Miley Cyrus revealed how she avoided crying too much over any of the trauma.
“I didn't spend too much time crying over it, and it wasn't because I was cold or trying to avoid feeling something, but it was just because it wasn't going to change it,” she explained. Miley Cyrus further said that she wanted to focus on things that were in her hands rather than something she can't do anything about.
Miley Cyrus explained that if she holds on to things that she didn't have control on, then it would have started to feel like a trap. Moreover, she admitted that by not crying over the loss, she was able to keep moving ahead in life.
The singer noted that society has a stigma for a woman who acts cold and doesn't really stick to the trauma while crying for weeks or months. While Miley Cyrus disclosed that her feelings have changed over time for her exes, Cody Simpson and Liam Hemsworth, she thinks she has become less emotional as time passed.
Miley Cyrus further said that she heals through meeting new people and traveling. Cyrus said that if one person leaves your life, another person is entering while one should not believe in forever commitment; otherwise, it might lead to "disappointment."
The pop singer recently reflected on the ongoing pandemic and said that it had created more division in society. She explained the division while encouraging her fans to vote for the elections. The singer recently dropped her latest studio album, Plastic Hearts. Miley Cyrus agreed with Madonna’s point of view at coronavirus and calling it “the great equalizer.”
