It's no secret that fans have been anticipating the release of Blackpink's first full album ever since their debut in 2016. The way the group soared to new heights of global success left everyone in a daze. 4 years later, YG entertainment released Blackpink's first full album titled "The Album" which consists of 8 tracks.
Blackpink breaks Guinness Record!
The Pre-release single "How You Like That" made history by beating records held by artists such as BTS and Ariana Grande. According to the Guinness World Records, "Blackpink has the most viewed music video in 24 hours". The video accumulated 86.3 million views.
Domestic sales contribute to 871,335 copies sold in Korea. Sparking great interest, the United States and Europe garnered 319,300 sales. The company also released a special limited edition LP that recorded 18,888 purchases.

The 4-year-old group also announced collaborations with phenomenal pop sensations such as Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez and Cardi B. Blackpink has also collaborated with Dua Lipa. After its worldwide release, "The Album" took the charts by storm. It climbed to the top in the category of iTunes Top Albums in 57 countries. The physical album debuted No.2 on Billboard 200.

The girls just finished their promotions for their hit single "Lovesick Girls" this week. On October 26th, YG Entertainment announced that the group has sold a whopping total of 1.2 million copies of their debut album. As far as the charts are concerned, it is still holding a strong position at No. 10 in Billboard 200.
