Adele has joined the roster of celebrities to have their privacy invaded by hackers, with the singer’s personal photos hacked and shared on the Internet.
According to U.K.’s The Sun, the leaked photos are said to include a photo of her three-year-old son, Angelo, and even a scan of the child while he was still in utero, along with photos of Adele as a teenager and one in which she’s wearing a Santa Claus costume. Also leaked were photos of Adele at about five years of age and a selfie she took while pregnant.
A report by The Guardian says Adele is “angry and upset”; about the blatant invasion of her privacy.
The hack is believed to have taken place “after a hacker gained access to the images through the email of her partner, Simon Konecki,”; reports The Sun.
After the images were posted on a Facebook page that is “accessible only to a group of the singer’s most devoted followers,”; a fan reportedly made Adele’s management aware of the breach.
“I was appalled and upset when I saw the pictures,”; the whistleblowing fan told The Sun. “They are really private and should not be passed around. I think it is disgusting that her so-called fans were sending them around and I thought it should be stopped.”;
Adele 's been a bulldog about protecting her beloved son's privacy: In 2014, she had her lawyers go after a photo agency that had captured images of her son at a playground and later accepted a five-figure settlement on his behalf. (Britain has different laws about taking photos of celebrity children in public places.)
Adele's also been clear about her issues with fame and its dangers as she struggles to maintain a private life while cultivating professional success. "People think I hate being famous," Adele told Rolling Stone in 2015, "and I don't. I'm really frightened of it."
News of the hack emerged on March 20, a few days after Adele announced that she will be headlining Britain's annual Glastonbury festival in June.
