Elon Musk and Brian Chesky take Twitter by storm with their interactive approach to customer feedback
Elon Musk's Twitter controversies: From fraud charges to debunked conspiracy theories

Elon Musk commended Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky's use of Twitter to obtain feedback about his company, and suggested that other companies should take note. Chesky recently asked Twitter users for suggestions on what Airbnb should focus on as a top priority to improve the platform. Musk praised Chesky's interaction with users and encouraged others to follow his lead.

Following the announcement of significant improvements to its platform, Chesky asked Twitter users for their input on how to further improve Airbnb. He listed the top suggestions gathered from user feedback, and promised that the company would be working on implementing them. Users can expect to see more upgrades to the platform in the coming summer months. One of the new concepts introduced by Airbnb is "Airbnb Rooms," which allows guests to stay in strangers' spare rooms.

In response to Chesky's tweet asking for suggestions to improve Airbnb, Musk commented that the CEO's interaction with users was "awesome" and suggested that other companies should take note and follow Chesky's example.

Musk has previously encouraged CEOs to be more active on Twitter and engage with their audience. During a public meeting with advertisers on Twitter Spaces shortly after acquiring the platform last year, Musk advised brands to be more active on the platform and for their top executives to engage more with users. He also shared that being adventurous on Twitter has worked well for him and his companies, including Tesla and SpaceX.

However, as reported by Insider's Grace Kay, the reality of this advice may not always be as successful as Musk made it sound.

In 2018, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged Musk with fraud after he tweeted that he had secured funding to take Tesla private, a claim that proved to be false. Musk was fined $20 million and removed as chairman of Tesla, while the electric car manufacturer was also ordered to pay an additional $20 million. Musk was later cleared of intentionally misleading investors by a jury on February 3, 2021, after shareholders sued him.

Musk has faced criticism on Twitter for sharing a conspiracy theory about the attack on Nancy Pelosi's husband and for posting an image of a Nazi soldier. Both incidents occurred within two weeks of his acquisition of the platform. At the time of reporting, neither Musk nor Chesky had commented on the matter to Insider.
